Sheffield's Holistic Music Educators

About our events

Building confidence and understanding

Our programme of workshops and concerts help students - of all ages and abilities - gain confidence in their own musical expression. Activities take place in a friendly atmosphere of mutual participation and encouragement, enabling even the most nervous student to take part and improve their own skills.

Pupils' Concert

Next date to be announced
Performing regularly to an audience is a vital part of learning to be a good musician. Our Pupils' Concerts are very popular, creating a relaxed, friendly and non-critical environment for students to practice their performance skills.

Although performing can be nerve-wracking, the sense of achievement and joy at having made music for others brings great rewards for students, parents and teachers alike.

Performance Skills Workshop

Next date to be announced

How can you make your performance really stand out? What kinds of practical as well as musical factors help even the most inexperienced musician communicate effectively with his/her audience (including music examiners)? Based on core principles of teaching used in Higher Education, David Milsom guides performers in a friendly and informal way through various performance strategies to help make musical performances engaging and exciting. Performers each bring a prepared piece to the session, which is then the focus of an inter-active workshop.

Performance workshops are open to non-Milsom School pupils as well as friends and family.
