At
the core of the business is
our husband-and-wife partnership; we are David Milsom
(violinist,
teacher and musicologist) and Ruth Milsom (piano
teacher, accompanist, music arranger and publisher). We have both been
established instrumental teachers in the Sheffield area for the last 15
years and officially joined forces in September 2006 to form the Milsom
School
of Music.
What
is our purpose?
Above all, we aim to
deliver a
holistic and empowering musical
education to people of every age and ability.
We want
all our
pupils to grow into
knowledgeable, sensitive and
thoughtful musicians, no matter what stage they reach on their
instrument. To help encourage this ethos of educating the whole person,
we run a series of Performance
Workshops and Concerts throughout
the
year which are open to all pupils of the School.
Since forming the
School our
practice has expanded and we now have
several assistant teachers working with us. We hope
that others will join us in our mission to promote the love and nurture
of
music in our local
community and beyond.
